Steins Gate- ET's Anime Review

Steins Gate
synopsis- I can really go much in to the story of steins gate due to how everything is so  intertwined  with each other. but what I can say is the whole series starts of with the witnessing of a murder and the accidental creation of a microwave which can send text messages back in time. This leads to a whole lot of trouble.

This is a must recommended, I watched this anime non-stop for a day or so. My top anime absolutely love it.

Characters-  There is a lot of main characters in this anime, so I am going to go through them in one go not specifying names just like a shout out and out some pictures of all of them. so you have the mad scientist, with his  conspiracy  theories and mad  genius  he is one of my  favorite  characters. His reluctant assistant, she comes across harsh at first but this just makes her more likable, and hides a lot of her emotions in which you get a little look in the beginnings of the anime. The  cos-playing maid, with a painful past. The  cutesy  girl with a harsh future and past. The hacker arsey but  likable. The guy who looks like and wants to be a girl (handled very well in the anime). The silent girl with hidden pain and ambitions. And the daughter from the future but of which character, dun dun dah.
All characters have their own stories which are given the perfect explanation, and shown equal importance, love all of them.

art- this was done extremely well, when ever it took a dark turn, the art work had overall darker tone to it and vise versa. there one very cool scene it which they completely change up the artwork. only for one scene but this added so much effect to what was  occurring.

music- I am going to change the way I am doing the music section because there is not much you can say on it. only if you like or dislike it. so thats what I will do. I really like the music for this anime, very enjoyable. you actually watch the intro just to here the song which Seems like it was made for the anime.

definite must watch, no matter your  favorite  genre or usual  preference watch this anime!

music for today is- blue october, amazing (song name).

art- look at the nemi comic strip.

have a good day, any recommendations comment and I will watch and review them.

Gokujo- ET Anime Review

Gokujo
synopsis-  your typical school comedy, mostly no plot its only six episodes long.  surrounds  a group of girls. focusing on one who dresses tarty and is an idiot. Lots of yuri hints and sort of bits. but  wouldn't  watch if wanting a yuri. episode are shorter than usual takes between and hour to half n hour to watch.

I wont go in to characters or anything. As said this is not a full on series its just to make you laugh so here are some funny pictures:

overall art and music is done very well in this anime.

definite would recommend, actually made me laugh out loud. which most likely sounded mental but it was good fun.

song for today- botdf, gfa.

Anne Stokes artwork similar to Victoria Frances

Hope you have a good day :)

Spice and Wolf- ET's Anime Review

Spice and Wolf- Both series
Synopsis- Spice and Wolf is a romance anime about a traveling merchant or ends up traveling with the pagan god holo (the wise wolf and god of the harvest). She makes a deal with him to pay her own way and help him were possible and he will take her back to her home town.
I did not really like this anime, nothing against the characters they were both likable, nothing against the quality of the anime e.g. artwork, music, dubbing. It was the most integral part of the anime the story line and pace.
Characters- I am going to review the two main characters being lawrence and Holo.
Lawrence- He is the traveling merchant, he is a likable character. caring, mostly calm. He is like a reflection of the anime itself in a character. He is dubbed  excellently and portrayed all in all very well.

Holo- the pagan god. As a god, she does not come across godlike at all. She is silly,  mischievous and greedy. But that makes you love her more. They portray her story line very well, almost justifying her character traits through the sounds of her youth (despite being far longer than a humans) and being in isolation from her people. she is also dubbed very well and no complaints and to her character.

There are a few other characters in the anime but not many of them re-occur but they are important in the fact that it portrays in attitudes in the time the anime set very well. something in which this anime does perfectly. you have the  shepherd  who is being used/tricked by the church, the female merchant who dresses as a man in order to help her trade etc.

art- the artwork is sort of average, quite bright mostly sort of reflecting the mood of the overall anime, but overall very pretty and nicely done.

music I cant really remember which means either it was not bad enough to scar me and annoy, but it was not good enough to be like I actually like this song.

overall I think the anime execute many aspects very well, characters, art. historical troubles of economy, and many to do the aspect  surrounding  religion very well as they showed the corruption of the church but with out villianising it completely. and portrayed the persecution of paganism, and did not portray it as you typical  witchcraft  or satanic religion with its negative connations. They had done their research in other words.

but I would not  re-watch  this anime, it was far too slow. it seem that they  traveled  from town to town with the same thing  occurring  each time with a different face. the story was not complete, so the ending was a complete let down. if you have some time and you watch to chill with out getting to into an anime recommended but there are far better anime out there.  admittedly  i enjoyed it while watching it and kept wanting to watch the next episode but the opinion i stated here is upon reflection.

have a good day, any recommendations comment and ill watch and review them :)

music for today is- arch enemy, under black flags we march

art work for today is anything done by Victoria Francis who does gothic art work, nearly all women and mostly vampires.
ET :)

its been a long break :(

so I have not made a post in a while, a lot of changes have  occurred  for me.

I am now studying law at university, a lot of hard work, a lot less free time but so worth it.

while being at uni I've joined the anime society, so been watching a lot of different anime. A couple of my flat mates watch anime so been real busy, I am moving in with the same ones in  September  so there will be a steady stream hopefully of reviews.

I am going to catch up on the anime I watched over the holiday and hopefully then be up to date with most of the ones I have watched.

I don't really like reviewing anime I really don't like, so if I do the reviews for them will be shorter than most and in less detail because I prefer to promote the ones I want to encourage everyone else to watch.

list of reviews to come:

  • gokujo- a short comedy series
  • spice and wolf series 1 and 2- a romance
  • genshiken- comedy down to earth series
  • steins gate!- sci-fi sort of, time travel, series.
  • durarara- action, comedy, hints of romance series.
  • ikkitousen- ecchi, comedy, action series.
  • high school dxd- ecchi, comedy, supernatural series.
  • deadman wonderland- horror,action series.
  • darker than black- supernatural series.
currently I am watching mai-hime and coppelion. I also want to re-watch a lot of the yuri I have seen, this is one of my most loved genres.

so hopefully  a lot more reviews coming.

kannazuki no miko- ET's Anime Review

Kannazuki no miko
Synopsis- This is a supernatural yuri with a tiny bit of mecha, its about two girls who turn out to be the solar and lunar goddess and they have to come together to destroy and evil force that's trying to destroy the world. There is a love triangle, a bit of philosophy/religion.

I loved this anime a lot, its available dubbed and subbed, I liked the way they portrayed the relationship of the girls, and the development of the path with each other.
characters- theres 4 characters i will look at the two main girls, the main guy and the bad guys in general

Chikane- she is the lunar goddess in the anime, the tall, dark haired serious type of girl. she is the one who goes through heartbrake for most of the series as she cant confess her feelings. she protects the other leading lady even if not very well, and make continues sacrifices for her with out her realizing. overall I liked the character very much but its also your stereotypical long haired moody girl.

Himeko-she is the solar goddess, the typically dypsey blonde sorta of character, who also holds feelings for chikane but cant confess them. Her character was sorta of useless but this was useful for the anime as it allowed for better development of Chikane and Soma.

Souma-He is one of the main characters who fight along side Chikane and Himeko despite his destiny telling him otherwise, he erked me as he liked Himeko she went out with him because she thought she couldn't stand a chance with Chikane which slowed down their love story. He was one of the characters who used a mecha and used ridiculously cheesy powers but thats only a small part so its easy to ignore it.

bad guys- cant remember their official title, they were your typical bad guys, young child, young girl star, the nerd, sexy nun, muscle guy, and off course slightly gay looking most powerful. they also used mecha with ridiculous powers but overall weren't too bad characters,

overall the character dubbing was fine, the leading ladys were dubbed by two actors who do bleach. and seemed to suit their characters very well.

Art-overall the art style was average it wasnt like omg amazing but wasnt awful, it was fine for the anime keeping in mind its not the newest so its not going to look the best.

Music-uber catchy opening and closing song, really got stuck in my head.

overall the only downside is it can be abit cheesy but overall i absolutely loved this anime and I would defo recommend watching it.

song for the day is- I,alone by otep. some times you just need metal!

any anime you want reviewing leave a comment and I will try to watch it in a week.
hope you have a good next week
